It was reported over the weekend in the WikiLeaks Stratfor email dump that the McCain campaign in two separate emails clearly had evidence that Obama supporters and/or the Obama campaign stuffed ballot boxes in Pennsylvania and Ohio in the 2008 General Election. That the McCain campaign, basically for fear of a race riot with the huge crowds basking in the phenomenon of the first black president, kept this information under close wraps. The emails also indicate that the Obama campaign received an illegal contribution from a Russian source, either an individual or entity. A less troubling issue, falling under an ethical violation rather than legal one, was the 'hush' money given to Jesse Jackson, presumably to keep his anti-Semitic rants to himself, after stating in October of 2008 at a World Policy Forum in Evian, France, "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.
But the more perfidious revelation in the November 5, 2008 email is that there are 'whispers of McCain being set up by the Cheney/Bush crowd, because McCain was never liked by either.' That is, in some unspecified way the Republican establishment threw McCain under the bus by sabotaging the campaign
Another shocking revelation is that someone by the name of Rove—more than likely Karl Rove—didn't like the lack of control in the McCain campaign that he was given, and that 'Rove and company want to bring in someone they can control next go around' (presumably the November 2012 election)
Is the Republican Establishment's 'inevitable candidate,' Mitt Romney, the more manageable candidate Karl Rove was envisioning? Considering that both the Democrat Media Complex, Republican establishment, and 'conservative' MSM (Fox News) have destroyed and/or ignored every other candidate besides Romney, telling us ad nauseam that he is the 'inevitable' candidate before the Primary had even gotten underway, Romney is more than likely our 'manageable' candidate
What is troubling about these emails is not that we probably have a President who received a significant amount of votes illegally; who received an illegal foreign donation; but that our entire electoral process resembles something out of a Third World puppet government instead of a democracy
How exactly the United States of America has come to this point is a question that will be asked by future generations—if in fact America continues as a democracy
For, if we continue on this path, elections will be seen by elites as an arcane exercise in futility. Like Obama's endless refrain regarding Congress—
'If they won't act, I will'—the same will one day be said of an obsolescent American voter
America, how did we ever get to this point?
And can we find our way back?
